products are often inspired
by traditional African designs
and adapted to suit a contemporary
style. We pride ourselves
on our originality and uniqueness.
Each product is hand-made
by a group of men and women
in Pietermarizburg, KwaZulu-Natal,
South Africa. The employees
at High Thorn are encouraged
to take responsibility for
each order that is allocated
to them and we hope that
this responsibility will
transcend into
their daily lives. |
The
beadwork is done by a team
of previously disadvantaged
women who are usually the
sole providers for their
families. The organisation
is structured in such a
way that the ladies work
for themselves. It is headed
by an extremely
talented woman who gets
satisfaction out of helping
people learn how to help
themselves.
